Check out Kennett Middle School's cool Reuse-A-Shoe video!

Ms. Fellows' students deserve an A+ for creating this super creative and fun video. Keep your eyes open for Andy and Peter on the big screen someday - who knows? We think we see some serious acting talent here.

A big shout out to Ms. Fellows for giving the Reuse-A-Shoe program a gold star. "As a teacher I use the Reuse-A-Shoe program to bring awareness to recycling and philanthropy. I also bring awareness to helping those around us by giving sneakers and shoes that are in good condition to the local mission and Soles for Souls program at our local running store. The students were not aware their shoes could be recycled. A lot of times kids grow out of their shoes, or they have shoes they have used and throw them in the trash. This was the first time someone had given them another option for their worn out and gently used sneakers."

Andy Curry, Peter Ferranto, Kyle Pawloski, Kyle Hicks and Liam Allenstein-Lyon from Landenberg, PA created this clever video. They took the assignment seriously and went above and beyond what was required. The teacher remarked, "the students developed their own action plan and ‘marketing’ scheme. They spoke to their friends and family about the Reuse-A-Shoe program. A group of kids from 7th Grade Social Studies volunteered, on their lunch break, to make a video in order to bring more attention to the cause. The kids wrote the script and acted it out as they video taped it on my MACBook. They kept track of the sneakers we collected and I posted the weekly results on my website."

The Reuse-A-Shoe program is part of Ms. Fellows' curriculum again this year, although her new students have some big shoes to fill! Ms. Fellows continued, "the Nike program not only brought awareness to students but I learned recycling is more than just plastic bottles and cans. Staff awareness at our school was also another result of the sneaker drive. There are staff members who are looking forward to the next sneaker drive as a time to clean out their closets. The bottom line is that everyone can do their part to make their community a better place, one sneaker at a time."

We couldn’t agree more! Now, everybody together:
