LIVESTRONG is Yellow and Green
The Tour de France is underway, and while Lance Armstrong is chasing yellow in pursuit of his eighth victory, his non-profit, the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) – aka LIVESTRONG – is chasing green and getting help from Nike Grind.
LAF, whose mission is to improve the lives of people affected by cancer, moved into its new Austin, Texas, home last February. Just recently, it added two Training Ground with Nike Grind surfaces to a couple of staff gym areas at headquarters. Nike Grind surfacing partner ECORE International installed 1,300 square feet of flooring, which contains 25% Nike Grind rubber.
Besides being a comfy base for the gym areas, the Training Ground surface upholds LAF’s environmental focus and supports the building’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification – the second highest rating given by the U.S. Green Building Council to recognize the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
